  Should I lend on Prosper
I love this direct person-to-person lending service from Prosper. I have been thinking about becoming a lender but for some reason, I just can't do it. I was only going to use a small sum to try it but something is holding me back. Why, I have no idea? Has anyone used this? Any opinions? Maybe I should just open another E*Trade CD or make another deposit to ING...

That's pretty interesting. I hadn't seen that site before. I'd definitely treat it as a risky investment if you decide to do it. Basically be prepared to kiss the money good bye. I lean to the safer stuff.

I feel the same way. If you want to help people in the developing world (but not earn interest), check out www.kiva.org www.kiva.org... it's very similar to prosper, but you're giving a loan to a micro-entrepreneur in the developing world... they have a 100% payback so far
